Dr. Patricia Farrugia Receives IPAC Mentorship Award
Dr. Patricia Farrugia has been named the inaugural recipient of the IPAC (Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada) Mentorship Award.
She will be formally receiving the award this Saturday July 8th at IPAC’s AGM in Manitoba.
The IPAC Mentorship Award recognizes a First Nation, Inuit, or Métis physician or medical resident in Canada who exemplifies mentorship by encouraging authenticity and self-respect in their learners; initiates opportunities for growth, empowerment, and organic connections within the learning environment; and honors the balance between western and Indigenous ways of knowing throughout their career.
Please congratulate Dr. Farrugia and let’s celebrate her commitment to her work as the Chair of Indigenous health.
This award increases McMaster’s standing as a school that welcomes and develops its Indigenous medical students and helps to champion our goals of increased recruitment and retention of priority groups.
