Program at a Glance

The Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) is pleased to offer the Master of Public Health (MPH) graduate program. The MPH program builds on HEI’s expertise in health policy analysis and research within a public health framework. The program offers a new suite of research skills, knowledge and ready-to-apply practical experiences to MPH graduates. The MPH program seeks to prepare future public health leaders to identify and employ evidence informed thinking to solving emerging and pressing health challenges – locally, nationally and internationally – in meaningful, responsive and equitable ways.

The MPH program offers a practicum and thesis pathway option, and allows for both full-time and part-time enrollment.

Indigenous Applications

Indigenous participation in the Master of Public Health Program is important. To ensure equitable admissions we have a facilitated admissions process for First Nations, Inuit and Métis applicants.  In accordance with the Self-Identification policy of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) applicants who wish to apply through this stream must complete the supplementary Self-identification Application. Information on the policy, application requirements and the online application can be found at: Facilitated Indigenous Admissions Program (FIAP)

All applications received through the FIAP are reviewed exclusive of the general applicant pool. These applications are strongly encouraged and entrance scholarships are available to support Indigenous students.
